SafeHere NZ and Kineo partner to improve the safety of our children
Nurture Marketing Specialist at Kineo APAC
SafeHere NZ works with institutions and organisations to ensure the people in their care are safe. Through training and the provision of digital resources SafeHere NZ helps clients upskill in safety management and maintain comprehensive records.
Primarily working towards the protection of vulnerable people, including children, young people, the elderly and those who work with them SafeHere NZ has partnered with Kineo to create a comprehensive elearning course module Keeping Children and Vulnerable People Safe - NZ.
This is NZ’s first e-learning harm prevention course, available to individuals, clients and organisations.
Jointly launched with ChildSafe in 2009, SafeHere NZ is an established and traditional trust organisation that works with over 100 small entities: churches, clubs, societies, care facilities, schools and sporting organisations across New Zealand.
Safe organisations have evaluated three critical risk management processes under the guidance of SafeHere:
The appointment process for people working with participants, the training required of those people and the control taken by the organisation over its programs.
The course appeals to learners who are safety focused operating in a community organisation context or who may be in any leadership or carer role for children and other vulnerable people.
Keeping Children and Vulnerable People Safe - NZ will provide an understanding of:
- The need to keep children and vulnerable people safe
- Personal and organisational safety management
- The issues of abuse and responding appropriately to incidents and suspected malicious behaviours
- How to support the rights of children and vulnerable people and create a safe environment for all
Developing a learning based culture has been a face to face centred practice to date. However, distance learning is a new way forward for SafeHere that better aligns with a modern way of promoting the safety of those that are vulnerable across a wider community.
We are excited with the prospect of opportunity that this partnership brings, offering greater reach and impact made possible through technology and a joint vision.
